Teck Whye station in detail

Teck Whye MRT station in Singapore — Bukit Panjang LRT (BP4)
BP4

Teck Whye serves Teck Whye Heights, the oldest completed neighbourhood in Choa Chu Kang, dating to the late 1970s, and it shows in the estate's older-style blocks and its no-frills Teck Whye Shopping Centre. The centre has two supermarkets, a wet market and a run of shops selling daily necessities at prices locals reckon are noticeably cheaper than newer malls nearby. ITE College West also falls within the station's catchment, so expect a wave of students on weekday mornings. It's three stops from Choa Chu Kang and two from Bukit Panjang, squarely in the middle of the stem, with the same trains serving both directions.

Facilities at Teck Whye

Step-free access
lifts and ramps to the platform, with level boarding through the platform screen doors
SimplyGo / EZ-Link tap in-out
no separate LRT ticket; the same fare gates read contactless cards and phones as the MRT
Wireless@SG

Passenger help points

Tip

The shopping centre and market are a genuine nine-minute walk, not a two-minute one despite what a map might suggest — the station sits at a road junction rather than right against the shops. Budget the time if you're relying on it for a meal before boarding.

The Bukit Panjang LRT (BP4) only. It’s a stem station between Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang, so all trains run the same direction — no Service A or B choice here.

Not directly at Teck Whye. Ride two stops to Bukit Panjang (DT1/BP6) for the Downtown Line, or three stops the other way to Choa Chu Kang (NS4/BP1) for the North South Line.

It’s the closest LRT stop to the campus, about a ten-minute walk, and carries a visible flow of students at the start and end of the college day.
