Bukit Panjang station in detail

Bukit Panjang MRT station in Singapore — Downtown Line, Bukit Panjang LRT (DT1 / BP6)
DT1BP6

Bukit Panjang sits at the north-western end of the Downtown Line, underneath the Bukit Panjang Integrated Transport Hub. It shares its name — but not its concourse — with the Bukit Panjang LRT station next door: the two are linked by a covered walkway rather than a shared paid area, so changing between the DTL and the LRT means tapping out and tapping back in, with 15 minutes to do so for it to count as a single journey. The station opens directly into Hillion Mall, with the bus interchange and Bukit Panjang Plaza a short walk beyond. For residents of the surrounding new town this is the main gateway south into the city, and the interchange point for the LRT's loop through Senja, Petir and the rest of the estate.

Out-of-station interchange. Changing between DT1 and BP6 here means going through the fare gates: you tap out and tap back in. As long as the change takes 15 minutes or less the system still treats it as one journey, so you pay a single distance-based fare — not two.

Bukit Panjang — frequently asked questions

Yes. Bukit Panjang (DT1/BP6) is where the Downtown Line meets the Bukit Panjang LRT, but the two are not in the same paid area — you tap out at the MRT gates, walk a short covered linkway, and tap in again at the LRT. Do this within 15 minutes and it still counts as a single fare.

Hillion Mall sits directly above the concourse, with a supermarket, food court and clinics. Bukit Panjang Plaza is a few minutes’ walk further along Jelapang Road, and the bus interchange is right beside the station for onward connections across the north-west of the island.

Bukit Panjang is the western terminus of the Downtown Line. Trains run from here south-east through Bukit Timah and the city centre before turning east to Tampines and Expo, a journey of about 69 minutes end to end if you rode the whole line.
