Little India station in detail

Little India station is the easiest way into Singapore's Indian quarter, an interchange with the Downtown Line since 2013 and one of the network's busiest during festivals like Deepavali, when the streets outside are strung with lights. Exit onto Serangoon Road and you are steps from Mustafa Centre, a sprawling 24-hour department store popular with shoppers and night owls alike, and the fragrant stalls of Tekka Centre, a wet market and hawker centre serving South Indian and Muslim food. The ornate Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, dedicated to the goddess Kali, sits a few minutes further along, its gopuram tower visible from the main road.
Changing lines here is free. You stay inside the paid area and the fare is worked out once, from the distance of your whole journey.

Facilities at Little India
If you're visiting during Deepavali, expect the exits to be busy in the evenings when the light-up along Serangoon Road draws crowds — allow extra time, or use Rochor or Farrer Park station instead for a quieter walk into the area.
