Aljunied station in detail

Aljunied is a modest residential and light-industrial station between Paya Lebar and Kallang, serving the estate of the same name along with a stretch of small businesses and eateries. It has no attached mall and relatively few attractions of its own, but it sits within walking distance of the Geylang food street, known island-wide for durian stalls, seafood restaurants and its night-time atmosphere. Most travellers pass through rather than stop, though Geylang draws a steady stream of visitors after dark, particularly on weekends when the restaurants and coffee shops along the main strip stay busy well past midnight.
