Marine Terrace station in detail

Marine Terrace opened on 23 June 2024 in the heart of the Marine Parade housing estate, a straightforwardly local station rather than a shopping or dining destination. It serves the Marine Terrace Market and Food Centre and a cluster of neighbourhood schools, sitting between the busier Marine Parade station to the west and Siglap to the east. East Coast Park is within reach on foot for those willing to walk 10 to 15 minutes, though Siglap or Marine Parade, one stop in either direction, both land you closer to the beach itself. For visitors, Marine Terrace is best treated as a residential stop on the way through rather than a place to get off — its value is mostly to the estate around it.

Facilities at Marine Terrace
If East Coast Park is your goal, it's usually quicker to stay on one more stop to Siglap or backtrack one to Marine Parade rather than walk the full distance from Marine Terrace.

Marine Terrace — frequently asked questions
Marine Terrace is served only by the Thomson-East Coast Line, coded TE27, between Marine Parade and Siglap. Trains run underground from about 05:30 until around midnight, roughly every few minutes.
Not the closest — Siglap and Marine Parade, either side of it, are nearer to East Coast Park and its cycling paths, barbecue pits and seafood restaurants along the coast.
Mainly HDB housing, a hawker centre and neighbourhood schools; it’s a residential stop rather than a tourist one, useful mostly for the people living or working in the estate itself day to day.
