Maxwell station in detail

Maxwell opened on 13 November 2022 at the junction of South Bridge Road and Neil Road, right in the middle of Chinatown, and it's one of the most useful stops on the network for food: Maxwell Food Centre, one of Singapore's best-known hawker centres and a regular stop on food guides for its chicken rice, is roughly an eight-minute walk away. The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum sits directly beside the station, along with Sri Mariamman Temple and Masjid Jamae, reflecting the multi-religious character of this part of Chinatown. Maxwell also puts you within about 500 metres of both Chinatown station on the North East and Downtown Lines and Tanjong Pagar on the East West Line, so changing lines here, while not a direct paid transfer, is still a short walk.
