Somerset is the quieter of the two Orchard Road stations, one stop south of Orchard itself, and it tends to draw a younger crowd thanks to 313@Somerset, the mall built directly over the station and long associated with youth fashion and street food. TripleOne Somerset and Orchard Gateway are both a short walk away, the latter linked by an overhead bridge across Orchard Road. The area around Somerset also has more mid-range and independent dining than the luxury end of Orchard Road further north, making it a popular stop for a casual meal rather than a shopping-flagship destination.
