Bishan station in detail

Bishan is where the North South Line meets the Circle Line, and the crossover point is genuinely busy, sitting as it does beneath Junction 8 mall and beside one of the largest parks on the line. Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, with its naturalised river and open lawns, is about a ten-minute walk and is one of the most popular parks in central Singapore for picnics and jogging. The surrounding estate is also home to Raffles Institution, one of the country's oldest and best-known schools, and a cluster of other top schools, which brings a distinct student presence to the station at peak times on top of the usual interchange crowds.
Changing lines here is free. You stay inside the paid area and the fare is worked out once, from the distance of your whole journey.

Facilities at Bishan
If you are changing between the North South and Circle lines here at peak hours, follow the overhead signs rather than the crowd — Bishan's transfer corridors branch in several directions and it is easy to end up on the wrong side of the concourse.

Bishan — frequently asked questions
Bishan is served by the North South Line (NS17) and the Circle Line (CC15). Changing between the two lines is a same-station transfer, at no extra cost.
The park is about a ten-minute walk from the station, past Junction 8 and across Bishan Street 13 — well signposted from most exits. Once inside, paved paths follow the naturalised river through the park, so it is an easy, level walk once you arrive.
Yes, the paid concourse links directly into Junction 8, so you can walk from the platform into the mall and the bus interchange without going outside.
