Mountbatten station in detail

Mountbatten sits between Dakota and Stadium on a residential stretch of the eastern loop, best known for its proximity to the Old Airport Road Food Centre, one of Singapore's most celebrated hawker centres, a five-minute walk from the station. The area takes its name from Mountbatten Road, which runs towards Katong and the site of the old Kallang Airport — Singapore's first civil airport, whose Art Deco control tower still stands within Kallang Airfield Park a little further north. Away from the food centre the surroundings are mostly low-rise housing and schools, which makes Mountbatten one of the calmer stops on the Circle Line outside of mealtimes.
