Haw Par Villa station in detail

Haw Par Villa is named for the theme park that put this stretch of the Circle Line on the map: a free outdoor museum of Chinese mythology and folklore built by the Tiger Balm founders in the 1930s, famous — and occasionally notorious — for its vivid statues depicting the Ten Courts of Hell. The station opened in 2011 a short walk from the park's main entrance. Beyond the park itself the surroundings are mostly expressway and low-rise housing, so most visitors come specifically for Haw Par Villa rather than passing through on the way to somewhere else.

Facilities at Haw Par Villa
Haw Par Villa is free to enter and takes about an hour to an hour and a half to walk round; some of the Ten Courts of Hell statues are graphic and may unsettle young children, so it's worth a quick look ahead of a family visit.

Yes, it is a free outdoor park with no admission charge, though donations towards its upkeep are welcomed at the entrance, and some indoor exhibits inside the grounds charge separately.
About a five-minute walk from the station exits to the park’s main entrance, along a route shared with local housing blocks and the expressway overpass that runs above part of the path.
