Ubi station in detail

Ubi serves the light-industrial estate of the same name, a district of workshops, small factories and business parks rather than housing or shopping. Ubi Techpark and the surrounding streets are lined with printers, engineering firms and wholesalers who supply much of the city's small-business trade, and the station is busiest on weekday mornings and late afternoons as workers commute in and out. There is little here for casual sightseeing, but it is a useful, direct stop for anyone with business in the estate, cutting out what used to be a longer bus journey from Paya Lebar or Aljunied before this stretch of the Downtown Line opened in October 2017.

Facilities at Ubi
Ubi is a working station more than a sightseeing one — if you're visiting for business, allow a little extra time in the morning rush, when the platforms fill with workers heading into the surrounding industrial estate.

Ubi — frequently asked questions
A light-industrial estate — Ubi Techpark and the surrounding streets are filled with workshops, engineering firms and small wholesalers rather than shops or housing, so most passengers are commuting to work rather than sightseeing.
Not really — it’s mainly used by people working in the surrounding industrial estate, and there’s little in the way of shops, food or attractions to draw casual visitors.
Workers relied on longer bus journeys via Paya Lebar or Aljunied. The station, opened in October 2017, gave the area a direct rail link for the first time.
