Bright Hill station in detail

Bright Hill opened on 28 August 2021 under Sin Ming Avenue in western Bishan, and it takes its name — and its best-known neighbour — from Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, whose Chinese name translates loosely as "Bright Hill Temple". It's Singapore's largest Mahayana Buddhist temple complex, a six-minute walk from Exit 2, with pagodas, a columbarium and a hall housing a large marble Buddha statue. The station itself sits 20 metres underground and doubles as a civil defence shelter. Around it, the neighbourhood is mostly schools and housing — Peirce Secondary School, Ai Tong School and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park all fall within its four exits — making Bright Hill as much a residential local stop as a temple-visit destination.
