Kangkar station in detail

Kangkar MRT station in Singapore — Sengkang LRT (SE4)
SE4

Kangkar is named after a former fishery that once operated in the area, a small trace of Sengkang's history before the new town replaced the farmland. It's a quiet residential stop today, four stops out from Sengkang on the East Loop, serving HDB blocks near the boundary with the neighbouring Hougang and Buangkok areas. There's nothing here beyond a coffee shop and the usual small parade of shops — this is a stop for people who live nearby, not a destination in itself, and most riders passing through are on their way to or from Ranggung, one stop further on.

Kangkar is close to the far end of the East Loop, so if you're heading toward Sengkang from here the ride is short — just two stops back via Bakau and Compassvale — while continuing the other way to Ranggung adds only one more before the loop turns back.

Kangkar — frequently asked questions

The Sengkang LRT East Loop (SE4), four stops out from Sengkang, with Ranggung the only stop remaining before the loop heads back — a quiet, residential corner of the estate near the Hougang boundary.

It’s close to the boundary between Sengkang and the Hougang/Buangkok area, though it’s served only by the Sengkang LRT rather than the North East Line stations in that direction.

Changing at Sengkang for the North East Line, a trip toward town falls in the middle of the S$1.28–S$2.57 adult SimplyGo fare range, depending on the exact destination.
