Fernvale station in detail

Fernvale MRT station in Singapore — Sengkang LRT (SW5)
SW5

Fernvale gives its name to the wider precinct and sits close to Seletar Mall, which opened in November 2014 with a full run of chain retail, a supermarket and a cinema — easily the most substantial shopping on the West Loop. The station was originally intended to be built into a commercial building directly, though it ended up standing apart from the mall by a short walk instead. It's the fifth stop out from Sengkang, close to the loop's midpoint, which means the ride out and the ride back cover similar distances rather than one being a clear shortcut over the other.

Tip

Seletar Mall is the best reason to get off anywhere on the West Loop for a proper meal or a cinema trip — a five-minute walk from Fernvale beats anything else on this side of the line.

Fernvale — frequently asked questions

Yes, Seletar Mall is about a five-minute walk, with a supermarket, cinema and a broad mix of shops and restaurants — the largest mall directly accessible from the West Loop.

The Sengkang LRT West Loop (SW5), roughly at the midpoint of the loop, five stops out from Sengkang, and the closest LRT stop to Seletar Mall, a genuine destination rather than a pass-through.

About four stops and roughly seven minutes on the LRT, continuing the same direction around the loop through Layar, Tongkang and Renjong before reaching Sengkang and the North East Line.
