Sam Kee station in detail

Sam Kee, named after a former village on the site, opened in 2016 and does double duty as the access point for both the Recreation Zone of Punggol Waterway Park — with its sand and water play areas, about five minutes' walk — and SAFRA Punggol Clubhouse, which sits just off the platform. It's the first stop out from Punggol on the West Loop, and its position roughly at the waterway's midpoint means the station drops you close to the park regardless of which bank you're heading for. A short walk also reaches Punggol MRT itself, so for some residents this is genuinely quicker on foot than waiting for a train.
