Mayflower station in detail

Mayflower opened on 28 August 2021 underneath Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4, and it is easy to spot from the street: honeycomb-patterned roof panels and linkways designed by Ong&Ong, plus 22 bird sculptures scattered through the station as an Art-in-Transit installation that nods to the area's history as a songbird-keeping neighbourhood. With seven entrances — more than any other TEL2 station — it spreads out to serve a wide slice of Ang Mo Kio and Kebun Baru, from HDB blocks to the private housing of Mayflower and Ellington. It is a residential, everyday sort of station: no shopping mall attached, but a proper hawker centre and a handful of schools and temples within a short walk, giving a fair sense of a working Singapore heartland rather than a tourist stretch of the network.
