Woodlands South station in detail

Two stops south of the line's northern terminus, Woodlands South opened on 31 January 2020 in a residential stretch of Woodlands under Woodlands Drive 17. It is a strictly local station, with no shopping centre or transport interchange attached — its job is to bring the surrounding HDB blocks and schools onto the rail network directly, without a bus ride to Woodlands proper. Christ Church Secondary School, Singapore Sports School and Yusof Ishak Mosque all sit within walking distance, and Woodlands Health Campus, home to Woodlands Hospital, is a short ride further on. For visitors it is unlikely to be a destination in itself, but it is a genuine slice of how residents actually use the Thomson-East Coast Line day to day.

Woodlands South — frequently asked questions
Woodlands South is served only by the Thomson-East Coast Line, coded TE3, sitting between Woodlands North and Springleaf. Like the rest of this fully underground line, trains run from about 05:30 until around midnight in both directions.
Not directly at the station itself. The nearest mall is Causeway Point, reached by a short bus ride to Woodlands, where the North South Line also stops and there are many more shops, cinemas and eateries.
About 25 minutes riding straight down the Thomson-East Coast Line, with no change of train required — one of the more useful direct links this newer line offers to the shopping belt.
