Despite its name, Bendemeer station is not actually under Bendemeer Road — it sits beneath Kallang Bahru, in the industrial and light-commercial belt between Jalan Besar and Geylang Bahru. The area is more functional than picturesque: workshops, small factories and a postal delivery base cluster around Kallang Avenue, alongside older shophouses along Lavender Street. Jalan Besar Stadium is a nine-minute walk away, and the residential estates of Bendemeer and Boon Keng sit just beyond. It is not a station most visitors will seek out deliberately, but it is a useful, quieter link for anyone working in the surrounding industrial estate or living in the newer housing that has grown up around it.
